

Then there was the plot which, while intriguing, was totally predictable. All her melodramatic antics regarding Chris and how he'd hurt her in the past, how she could never trust him again, yada, yada, yada, kept grating on my nerves instead of making me sympathize with her. Insecure, lovestruck Beth, however, not so much. It was more of an accumulation of little things that didn't fully satisfy me. There wasn't one big salient issue that ruined the book for me. And still I'm feeling oddly sad right now. I mean, I ended up rating this one 3 stars.


I guess it's the books you're most excited about that have the power to disappoint you the most.
